Noteworthy Innovation in Ambient Air Monitoring

Air Control Techniques, P.C. developed the ambient air monitoring method for ambient PM4 respirable crystalline silica (RCS) to assess potential health risks.  We first used this new monitoring method in California in 2005 following the publication of an ambient air chronic exposure limit by California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA). Using this method, we have compiled more than 5,000 24-hour PM4 respirable crystalline silica measurements at the fencelines of mineral industry sources since 2012.  This ambient respirable crystalline silica monitoring method is now used nationally.
