Noteworthy Stack Testing Method Innovations

  • We have optimized procedures to achieve lower detection limits for EPA Method 320 FTIR organic HAP testing
  • Air Control Techniques developed the Dry Impinger Method 202 for condensable particulate matter sampling to reduce the large positive bias in previous Method 202. The revised Method 202 promulgated by EPA in 2010 was based primarily on our “dry impinger” method.
  • We contributed to the development of EPA Method 201A for filterable PM10 and PM2.5 to enable clients to respond to regulatory agency data requests. We started using this method nine years before it was promulgated by the EPA in 2010.
  • We are currently developing EPA OTM-036 for wet stack filterable PM2.5 to reduce positive bias associated with the use of Method 5 in wet stacks.
